However, most guys will get too carried away with their jelqing session and start to reach a point of overtraining.

In this blog article I’m going to teach you how to avoid overtraining so that you avoid stunting your growth so that you can maximize your size (girth) gains.

The biggest mistake to avoid when jelqing

The single biggest mistake that guys will make while jelqing is doing it with a 90-100% hard erection.

We’ll find out later why this is not ideal.

They do it consciously or unconsciously.

Consciously is when you actually think that in order to maximize gains, you have to use a super hard erection level.

If it’s unconsciously, then we’ll learn the ways it happens and how to avoid them.

One problem, especially with beginner jelqers is that they tend to get really aroused after a few reps into their jelqing session.

This is bad because your erection hardness level will skyrocket to 100% really fast.

This tends to happen with the younger guys who are more susceptible to such arousal.

Another bad thing that guys will do is watch pornography while jelqing.

Not only is watching pornography bad for natural penis enlargement in general, to do it while jelqing, it skyrockets your erection level in less than a minute.

Remember, jelqing is not a masturbation session, its an exercise session.

Why you need to avoid jelqing with a rock hard erection

The main reason is to avoid stunting your growth.

There’s a point that occurs when you’re jelqing too hard, where instead of expanding the tissues you’re actually squeezing them together.

Think of what happens when you jelq at a lower erection level.

As you move your finger grip up your shaft, you’re rolling the surface shaft skin up and over your the surface shaft skin just above it.

This is also true for the penile tissue just below the surface shaft skin.

The expansion training of this tissue is what leads to girth gains.

Now, let’s consider what happens to the surface shaft tissue when you jelq at maximum erection level.

What happens is this: Instead of the shaft tissues rolling over each other, instead they simply get squeezed together.

Combine this effect with a tight jelqing grip and you’re further magnifying this undesirable effect.

Remember, the goal is to train the tissues by rolling them over each other, not squeeze them together.

If you do like to jelq at high erection levels, then try to minimize the amount of high erection hardness jelqing reps to 20% or lower.

There’s no real reason to do all your reps at a high erection level.

There are two factors you can control.

Erection level hardness and tightness of your OK finger grip.

Finger grip tightness is easier and faster to regulate with your mind. Erection level is not.

Although both factors are important – you need to make sure you’re doing both correctly – you should first master your grip because its the easiest to control, correct, and regulate.

However, you have to consider Newton’s Third Law.

It says that for every reaction force, there is an opposite and equal reaction force.

So say your keeping your grip loose. However your erection level is very hard.

That means your penile tissue is not cushioning your jelq stroke, but rather actively pushing against your jelqing grip.

That’s why some guys think that if they use a lighter jelqing grip with a super hard erection they can avoid making the overtraining mistake.

That’s almost correct.

However, in this case, it’s their actual hardness of their penis shaft that is creating the overtraining force that they’re ironically trying to avoid.

Considering all these factors, here’s the biggest thing to do regarding your grip and erection level

Try to use your fingers to grip some shaft and try to get it to roll-over the shaft in front.
Another way of visualizing this is to make your penis look uncircumcised (skin rolling over and covering the glans) as you finish your jelqing stroke (as your fingers reach the base of your glans).

By doing this, you know that you’re stretching your shaft skin and the shaft tissues just under it. These are the tissues that will translate to girth gains.

The second factor that you can control is your erection level.

Again this factor is a little harder to manage, but its still very important.

If there’s only one thing that you take away from this guide, just make sure you’re not rock hard.

This will save you from negative results.

Ok, now that you got that hammered in your mind, let’s see how we can control erection level to optimize our jelqing session.

Here’s the secret. Remember how we just said earlier that we want to get the shaft skin and tissues to roll-over itself as we move the fingers up the shaft?

Erection level actually plays a big role in this effect.

Think of what happens when jelqing with the two extremes of erection level.

We already know what happens when you’re at maximum hardness.

Instead of rolling the tissues, you’re squeezing them together – that’s bad.

Now let’s consider the other extreme – when you’re practically flaccid 0-20% erection level.

You have no core shaft foundation to roll those outer tissues upon!

In this case, what will happen is that instead of rolling and training the outer tissues (the ones that contribute to girth), you end up just pulling your shaft core, which means you’re doing a manual penis stretching exercise that targets length! Not jelqing which targets girth gains and blood flow expansion!

You can try these two extremes out to see for yourself.

Essentially you’re wasting time especially if you desire more girth.

So ideally, you have to find a happy erection level medium.

To reiterate: You need to be hard enough to have a base to roll your external tissues on, and you also need to be soft enough to make sure you’re not squeezing the tissues together.

As we mentioned in our full jelqing guide, this tends to be between a 50-70% erection hardness level.

You gotta stop watching pornography when doing your jelqing sessions.

We know jelqing is not the most exciting thing to do.

Most guys naturally turn to watching pornography when doing jelqing because its fun, and seems to naturally go with jelqing.

However, like we said earlier, watching porn when jelqing (combined with the fact that you’re watching it with every daily jelqing session) is way too much and its going to give you some erectile dysfunction which will hurt your ability to get hard during real sex and also stunt your penis enlargement gains.

Instead of watching porn, here are some alternative things to do while jelqing (assuming you can still maintain the correct erection level with a reduced attention to it):
1.Watch ESPN or sports
2.Watch your favorite YouTube channel
3.Watch Netflix, Hulu, or any other shoe provider
4.Listen to a podcast – this is good if you like to always be learning things.
Experiment to see if your attention span can handle a recreational task and proper jelqing technique simultaneously.

Don’t cut corners, first make sure you’re doing jelqing properly, then see if you can add in another thing to do at the same time.

The important thing is to take action!!!

But also make sure to not go overboard with it! The best way of dooming yourself to failure, is by overtraining that penis and not letting it rest!

It’s 10x better to get too much rest than too little.

You’ve simply got to make jelqing a part of your life.

Jelqing Expectations

Don’t start jelqing it and expect an inch of growth right in the first week. You might get it, you might not.

Some guys get results in the first weeks. Others jelq for a few months until the penis starts growing.

You don’t want to screw up a good thing for yourself by having high expectations and then quickly being disappointed.

Your Jelqing Plan

Instead of committing to a goal, I recommend that you commit to a process.

The goal you set for yourself might not even be realistically achievable. You’re setting yourself up for a failure.

And while you may not want to set a goal, you will definitely do better if you create a plan for yourself.

For instance, you could go 5 minutes of jelqing 4 days a week.

Or you could go with 100 strokes on one day, 200 strokes the next day, 400 strokes the next day, and then let it rest for the rest of the week.

It doesn’t really matter. Everything works, guys!

Just get a plan and start executing it. If you don’t like plan A, switch to plan B and then execute that.

Rinse, repeat.
